Harbor Link, Inc.®’s underground conduit system will provide critically needed infrastructure for telecommunications services from Baltimore, Maryland through Washington, DC,  to Ashburn, Virginia. Currently, underground networks in these areas are experiencing serious congestion, preventing companies from quickly installing new fiber. While much of our network is still in the planning and negotiation phases, construction will soon begin in these areas.

Maryland – Long Haul

Construction Begins: 1Q 2021
Estimated Completion: 4Q 2021

Private businesses, state and local governments, and telecommunications providers need high speed connections between the region’s urban areas.  The open conduit and dark fiber plan of Harbor Link satisfies this need between Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC.

5G, the next-gen wireless standard, will require a massive investment in telecom infrastructure over the next decade. The Harbor Link long haul connection provides a solid backbone route for numerous carriers to develop their networks.

Harbor Link is constructing a privately-owned, open access telecom conduit system to make it significantly easier to dramatically upgrade and expand connectivity services between Baltimore, MD and Washington, D.C., and ultimately, on to Ashburn, VA, the data center hub of the East Coast.

The Maryland long haul sections are currently in the engineering and permitting phase with construction expected to begin in the 1st quarter of 2021.
